Full disclosure: I have not had any work done by this company as of yet; however, my initial interactions with them, as a potential client, was such a positive experience. With the decline of customer service since COVID, it has been a very challenging time getting contractors to even honor their commitments to come out, and I will not even get into issues with communication or showing up on time.Many often forget that estimates and word-of-mouth of potential clients travel farther than existing clients; because if you start off wrong, it will not fare well for either party.With that said, I had already been burned by TWO demolition companies last week. One company never called me before the schedule time, didnt answer my calls, didnt show up, and never followed up with any explanation. The other company, who was slated to come an hour before Chapman's Construction, emailed me (not call..not text..emailed) AFTER their scheduled arrival time, stating that they would not be showing up. So, needless to say, I was very skeptical of Chapman's.I called Ethan Chapman to confirm that he was still arriving for our 10 am appointment. Not only was en route, but he was ON TIME (driving from Louisburg to Durham). I was very impressed on how affable he was, and honest! At the time, I required a fence demo and I also inquired about a demo of my screened-in porch.Ethan was very up front of what services he was able to provide, and his prices. He composed a formal estimate the following day, and the pricing seemed reasonable.I decided to go a different direction with the porch, and called him immediately. Even as he sat in the airport, Ethan listened to my ideas and said he would work on it when he reached his destination. This was just today...during the Thanksgiving week!So, for those of you who are exhausted with contractors not honoring their commitments, dropping the ball with communication, or are inconsiderate with your time by showing up late/not at all, I would suggest calling Chapman's Construction. This company has been so refreshing for a future client.I am beyond appreciative of Ethan's understanding the importance of being communicative, trustworthy, and dependable. For me, it is simple: If I cannot trust you to communicate with me or to show up for a simple estimate, there's NO WAY I am entrusting portions of my home to you! Ethan Chapman puts himself in the client's shoes, and that's exactly as it should be!I will provide an update to this review, once I have actually had work completed.
